We really sure we want to sell arms to Saudi Arabia?

"Like" unfortunately has nothing to do with it. In a region of the world where there are few good choices, we just take the less bad. The fact that they can afford to spend hundreds of $ Billions on our military hardware makes it an easier choice. Despite the fact that they simultaneously fund global terror groups.

15 of the 19 September 11 attackers/terrorists were Saudi, Bin Laden............Saudi. But..............if we can make a profitable arms or oil deal................why not? We just keep making the same mistakes........or profits..............that's Capitalism..

That Imam in the middle of the story let out too much truth - "They just believe there is no crime in killing a non believer......"

I know these things but its good to see it in print, in a place where some of their victims get their news.

In all honesty, so long as the Saudis keep the Iranians in check, I don't have any problem with them getting F-16s and Blackhawks. I'm good with proxy wars in that region, the colder, the better of course, but I'd be lying if I denied getting my rocks off on a little heat here and there. They won't get in the game if they don't have the right equipment, and I really, REALLY want them in the game in the sandbox versus us being in it.

ETA: We've had worse bed fellows in the past too.

Do they actually use the shit though?

Usually I see the shiny new F16s as a prop for some prince to hop into and run like his toy Lamborghini.

Are they kicking ass in Yemen or just doing flyovers and shuffling gear on the side to Wahhabist causes?

Id feel better giving Jordan that gear but when they really wanted weapons after their pilot was Bar b qued we gave them nothing.

Ive heard of keep your friends close, enemies closer. Nothing said about arming them.

I hate that communist son of a bitch. Who's the guy on the left?

If it had been up to me, the Australian team would have rolled out onto the field to start a rumble. Fuck the game, some insults can't be left unanswered.

Pretty normal behaviour for arabs in my experience . We beat them on the field anyhow .
Wish it had been a rugby match instead . If you guys can make a buck selling them
hardware , then steering them in the right direction to use it , then it saves us doing it .
They are as likely to do that , as they are to take Syrian refugees though .....
