Weatherflow Meter and Iphone 7 plus

So I made the stupid mistake of buying a Weatherflow Meter and I use a Iphone 7 plus..

The problem is this phone doesn't have a headphone jack!

My question is... Will the meter work with a dongle? Or I have a couple androids laying around(no service hooked up).. Will it work with either of those?

The website says lollipop 4.3 or higher and my motorola is at least over 5 because I ran android auto in my Alltrack with the phone

Anyone ran into this?

It connects via Bluetooth. Your IPhone 7 Plus has Bluetooth connectivity so you’ll be fine.

Actually if he bought the $44 Weatherflow Windmeter, he would need another device; If he bought the $84 bluetooth Weatherflow Weathermeter you are correct and the only purpose for the head phone jack is as a place holder

I bought the high speed tactical version... Same color as the Chuck Norris Tacoma

It was $80ish

Which software should I use with this one? I currently use Trasol but don't mind switching

I have or have had just about every solver including the some that run about 2k all in (more if you want to take full advantage with your Vectronix)..

All the apps produce near the same results. Some are a bit more tunable.

At the end of the day you want something that works with your brain. As examples, I like Trasol (but not how convoluted the file profiles are to manage), CB mobile is nice, as is Sterok Pro but both do not work well for my head. AB is ok but really lake some of the features I really like.

Honestly, one I did not like when it was out for beta was one that works seamlessly with your meter. BallisticARC..

Once, I discovered BallisticARC's range cards and ease of use, it is my go to for matches hands down. It is free if you only have one gun/load but worth every penny of the $19 for the unlocked version.

That is one gripe I've had with Trasol is not being able to print out the dope cards...

I hate having to go back to my phone..

I work every saturday so getting to a match is pretty hard, but my want to try it out sometime

Yeah... the jack on the weatherflow is a blank designed for the convenience of sticking your meter on top of your phone. Comes in handy that way sometimes. But, then I got a new Samsung S9 (had an S4). The jack is on the BOTTOM of the phone now. And the Strelok Pro screen won't flip 180-degrees (if I just hold the phone upside-down). D'oh! So, I just hold the weathermeter with my hand or stick it in my homemade windvane on a tripod.

Another thing about that weathermeter phone jack... it's plastic, and it breaks easily. Ask me how I know. I emailed Weatherflow, and they sent me a couple of new ones at no charge.

The weather flow works with Hornady 4DOF, BallisticARC, and others. They have their own app as well so you can manually grab the data and enter into anything if you had to.

Which one do you suggest? I've heard good things about both 4dof and B-ARC

Well the 4DOF is free so it’s no risk and works best for Hornady own bullets because of the Doppler data. B-ARC is great and has a nice user interface. You can try them both for free so see which you like best. It really comes down to your favorite after using them

I have not tried B-ARC yet. Currently have Strelok Pro. Already know how to use it. Any reason a hunter/PRS shooter would benefit from the switch to their designated app?

Also. have you used the actual weatherflow app, for hiking and what not?

I had the same experience with them. I had mine for 4 months and it started giving me CRAZY pressures, from 0.6 inHG all the way to 60.0 inHG. I contacted GeoBallistics and they sent me a new one with a return envelope for the old one. That is pretty good customer service right there. Before it started giving me crazy pressure readings, it worked excellent. The new one works great as well. For $80 you can't beat that weather meter!

I have several ballistics programs, and BallisticsARC is my go-to. It's easy to use, it's accurate, and the competition mode is awesome for getting your dope for a multiple target stage. Paired with the weather meter and it is a great combo to give very accurate data.

I will have to give B-ARC a go this season. I used my weather meter for the first time this weekend at a off season match. worked pretty decent. Dope was spot on. I didnt have much in the way of wind so; I didnt get to test the reliability of its wind calls.
