I'm putting together a 6br on a Tikka for PRS stuff this year. It's going to sit in a Whiskey 3, Gen 5. Barrel is a 26" MTU (with smaller Tikka shank). Obvoisuly I'll have to wait for the barrelled action to fine tune ballance, but I'm wondering what I should be thinking about in terms of which weights to start with. I'm guessing a heavy flat bag rider, and a heavy arca rail? There are limited spots to put exterior weights on the forend, so the weighted arca seems like the obvious solution. I assume the forend t slot and the weighted arca will just make the whole thing too muzzle heavy?

The heavy bag rider will probably work against you for balance, most setups need weight in front to move the balance point forward.

You can also consider adding weight at the muzzle, with something like a heavy brake, a tuner, or a can if that’s an option for you; the muzzle is the most effective place to add weight for balance

interesting- I just assumed it would be muzzle heavy. Guess I really do need to wait for the barrelled action to see what’s what.
If you look at the average PRS rifle the weight of the action, heaviest part of the barrel and the scope all are set right aft of the front of the mag well add in the butt stock and that shifts the balance to the rear. The front of the barrel and chassis forearm must tip the rifle forward and hence adding weight to the front is required.

I tried to make a raw KRG W3 work in PRS for over a year, and it never quite balanced out.

Vision released their M-Lok Forend, and now my gun is perfectly balanced on a game changer. I highly recommend getting a good forend from Vision, or Next Shot Precision. I've run both, and tend to prefer the Vision, because of the barricade stop:

Here's a pic of my gun:

As was said, with the KRG you won’t need the heavy bag rider or any weight out back… but you might want to spend some loot on their internal forearm T-slot weight, Heavy ARCA Rail, and maybe their Heavy ARCA Spacer too.
