Less than 800.00 for it and two bricks of traget ammo. Donald

Definitely and "E" and quite a bargain! I shot with those when I first started on my College Smallbore team. Moved onto Anschutz, but loved those "E's" we had. Were great shooters and American made like me!

Yep, really the last American classic 22 made. It does have the plastic trigger guard but that's how Freeland shipped the stocks to Winchester I've been told. The standard stocked guns were still steel I beleive. Can't wait to shoot her tomorrow. Me and Jim M. here on the hide are going to Elberton. Donald

Re: Went out looking for a Anschutz and found a Winny

Pardon it's my first E. I was going to look at two Annies and this thing was there on the shelf. The shop got it on Saturday on a trade. Anyone with half a brain would have snapped it up at the price they had on it. I did not even see it one of the helpers brought it over to me because he knows how I love the old guns. Most guys in there are drooling all over tupperware pistols and rifles and have no idea what quality is.

A. S. you'll be a happy camper with this one. She shoots and has won me a little money in a couple matches. I got your email about the FFL. I'm going to down load her from the shop as I've got DSL there and I'm on a dail up at home. Keep shooting and increase your carbon foot print, LOL. Donald

Re: Went out looking for a Anschutz and found a Winny

Oh, goooood Don has a new rifle. Yet another time I get my ass handed to me at the range with yet another rifle of his. This crap is getting old, & I'm doing the best that I can do. Congrats on the find.
Don is one of those guys that if someone dumped 40,000 lbs. of "dog exhaust" in his front yard by the end of the day people would be paying him to haul it off. And, Geez on top of all that my Mother likes him......go figure.

Re: Went out looking for a Anschutz and found a Winny

Shot her today at fifty yards with the Iron sights. The eight three inch targets were shot with three types of ammo. First was Lapua Master L, next SK Jadg match and last Wolf Match Extra. The Match Extra was the best with a Ten shot group under .5 inch. The smallest group in the big targets is a ten shot group of MT. The smaller 1.5 inch targets were shot with a 40X with a scope to compare ammo. They are all five shot groups at fifty also.

Jim don't worry your mother still loves you more than me, well I think she does?

Re: Went out looking for a Anschutz and found a Winny

The targets are from the CMP. Thier out of the 050 LNU 10 meter ones but had a bunch of the 50 Ft rimfire target LNU is 051 I think. I put the Shot'N'C's on so i could pick up my shots with out a scope. Lazy I guess as I had a spotting scope set up. Donald

Re: Went out looking for a Anschutz and found a Winny

Guns4570 that's it on the head. And no bubba's got thier grubby meat beaters on her either. Still the way it left the factory over thirty years ago. It's missing the Freeland hand stop and the swivel the was shipped with it but the Kenyon trigger and Mark 8 internationals are super rare and nice to have. It's going back to the range tomorrow for more testing and later I've got a date with the first owner and he's selling me a Lyman Super Target Spot in 25 power still in the box to go with the rifle. Got to go, I'm packing up a 40XB for someone here on the Hide. A S you out there? Donald

You are getting the Super Target Spot too? Damn. It would be easy to envy someone who had made such a score, but it's just such a nice rifle.

Looking forward to the range report with the vintage scope.

Re: Went out looking for a Anschutz and found a Winny

That's going to have to wait until next week. I'm working on the range in the morning, then going to shoot for awhile and after I'm susposed to meet up with the old owner and buy the Lyman. It would have been a sweet day if things could happen in oposite order I'll be happy if things go as planned.

Re: Went out looking for a Anschutz and found a Winny

Well I got the Lyman and it is brand new in the box not a mark on it. 25X Super Targetspot with all the paper work and caps, rubber eye piece for 500.00. The same guy has another that's used but very nice condition for 300.00. No box or manual but it has it's caps and a recoil spring installed. This one is 20x. I did not know he had it or I would have brought money for it also. Going to pick it up next week after I get some cash flow going. Will be testing SK SP and match and Wolf ME and MT on tuesday. I also bought two boxesof the new Federal UM22 made by RWS. Can't wait til Tuesday. Donald

Also I found some more ammo in Anderson, SC so check out my Found ammo thread.
