Hunting & Fishing West Texas Aoudad

Has anyone been Aoudad hunting South of Van Horn Texas this year ? Any good rams taken ?

West of Sanderson has produced 3 on a ranch that I am associated with that went 31-33-30.

Thats great. Hope we do that good. How far was the shots ? I have heard they are damn tuff to bring down. This will be my first Aoudad hunt.

300 was longest and 125 was close. Very true on being tough. Most people that shoot Aoudad shoot them in a high fence ranch with shots being close. Majority hit the ground and a false sense of toughness is given off. Be sure to rack another round, dont be caught up in the augh of the moment. Ground pound then take it all in, or you will feel aweful the rest of the hunt.

Well I have zero set at 300 yards and was expecting a 500 yard shot.I should be in good shape. Thanks for the info.
