What 10.3/10.5 300 Blackout barrel would you choose? Would you put money into it?

For basically only HD would you put any money into a 10.3/10.5 300 Blackout barrel? I want to run a 9.3 Geissele MK8 rail so really a 10.3 barrel would be the best option.

I see a BA Hanson is offered in 10.3 and the price is sub $200. But I feel so dirty paying more for a rail than the barrel. Would you guys spend a little more to get a better barrel? I never plan to shoot it at distance really and it will just be suppressed (now that Trump is back in office) for my wife's HD gun.

So mainly 110-125gr supers and some subs just for fun.

If you don't care about shooting inside of a paper plate at 50 and minute of IPSC at 100 go for it

Zero it at 50, or even at just 25 for subs and call it good.

Your use case for “across the room” engagement distance with subsonic ammo is the perfect fit for a suppressed SBR or pistol chambered in 300BLK. And a 10”(ish) barrel gets you a complete powder burn, plus a bit more length for a slightly longer hand guard that works better for controlling the firearm.

I say go for it.

I don't own one simply because so far I've refused to fill out anything, send in a finger print, along with $200 for permission to own a tube of metal baffles.

I have never cared for the Hanson profiled barrels. I am running a 9.5" Noveske barrel with a Riflespeed adjustible gas system. Its been excellent. Its been very accurate out to 200 yards

I'm sure it will be fine.

My Hanson 11.5 5.56 barrel is more accurate than other mid priced lightweight barrels I have tried. Did some decent shooting on steel at 570M a few weeks ago. Maybe I just got lucky.

So , for myself, I would buy a "better" barrel.
