I've got a factory 338NM conversion for my DT SRS A1 , I have 3 firings on my New Norma Cases when the problems started .

Sticky extraction no matter what load from mild to warm .

Currently using Forster FLS dies bumping the shoulders 2 thou for clearance and reliability .

Rounds will chamber no problems no resistance , once fired will stick .

Made sure to clean chamber with brush etc , so rule that out .

There's a few discussions where some dies will simply not size enough of the Web down the bottom of the case .

Stuck cases aren't full jammed but literally on the end only

Pics below showing unsized portion

I would, after calling them, recommend sending your die(s) back to Forster along with a few fired cases and the shell holder. They can custom hone the die...i did this recently and it worked well. The fee was quite reasonable.

My buddy recently went through this on his 338 with brass on it with 4 firings.
Norma brass.

We checked trim length and it was GTG but I had him bring some brass with 1 firing he also had, loaded it with same load and it was GTG.

When I get back I’m going to anneal the other lot to see if that fixes it.

I suspect It’s not sizing fully and/or the hard brass is not springing back after firing because of its hardness.

Got a response from Forster , and tbh not the best one .
They recommend "bumping" the shoulders more being a magnum .
And to also anneal , which I am already doing

At $5 a piece I certainly don't want to meet old friend case head seperation .

Interesting.
Maybe go three thousandths.

Common bump for gassers without separation problems.
