What a piece of work!!!

Re: What a piece of work!!!

Kinda sounds like the 1SG and his SGT who went outside the wire(Bagram's backyard) and came back with a broken tree branch and a story about an RPG to get the young buck his CAB. Funny thing was, when I rolled out with the multinational task force(Polish MP's, french FL, Aussie SAS and a few of US Army guys) to take control of the entire area, build a range and train local nationals to shoot AK47's, there were NO TREES. The grid down to the initial 1k were void of trees and anything over 6" tall all the way to the edge of the hills where the big rocks were. In fact the highest thing out there was a 8' tall concrete wall made from jersey barrier where we were supposed to set up.
We did call this out to the BNCO and SGM as false, but for some reason they decided to let the asshat be, and let the buck have his award. Bad thing was, at the end of the deployment, 1SG wrote his own award for a gagh gagh...Bronze Star(it was downgraded to an MSM). The POG motherfucker never even went outside the wire except to shoot the ranges for the unit...200M from Bagram's fence. I think we were something like 7 or 8 miles out in bumfuck land...nothing but cold winds, the occasonal truck, and the occasional herder. Just we few and some Afghan kids learning to shoot AK's to help out the base tower guards.

I guess what I am saying is; there are always going to be those POG types(You all know them if you served) who think htey deserve something for doing jack shit but sucking up green beans and bad pizza as a fobbit
