I've got a rem 700 pss, decent shooting rifle, if I reload. The problem is, like many 700's, super long throat and walking a bit as the bbl heats.
I'm planning on truing the action, when I do I have a choice to replace the bbl or set it back.
I have a Lilja 3 groove (palma contour about 28" throat forward) that has less has less than 1k through it...at least that's what I was told when I got it. There is no sign of bad bbl wear in the throat area but would do a setback anyway to get it threaded to my rifle.
The question is, do I keep this one or are there superior bbls to the Lilja? I've wanted to try the 5r bbl from Mike Rock...but not sure how they compare to Lilja.
it will be chambered in 308 if that makes a difference.
