Re: What else do you do?

I hunt arrowheads, shed horns and such. Try to go camping some. Hunt varmints and big game whenever possible. Married with children doesn't leave much time for hobbys!

I like to build up old school arcade games

I also collect old Hot Wheels from time to time and occasionally there is a 1:1 scale real hot wheel in the garage.

Just turned 40 and still haven't quite grown up yet. The wife thinks I am crazy sometimes but my little boy thinks all of this stuff is awesome.

Besides shooting i also enjoy reloading, gunsmithing, hunting...

Do a lot of music related stuff too, guitarist, pianist, producer, dj...

live in sportfishing paradise but I stick to back-country and freshwater...tired of the bluewater deal.

Re: What else do you do?

Well before kids, dirtbiking, crotch rockets, cruiser bikes, musclecars (mopar or no car) expensive bows, new cars every few years, horses, nice vacations, etc. lol, kids really put a dent in all that, and the divorce from the first wife of course, haha. Now spend more time workin, and guns and the kids are my hobbies.

Oh yeah and had many more guns, and went to lots of competitions.

Re: What else do you do?

Other than shooting I love to work on my car/truck. And of course I love doing almost anything legal to make money. If you couldnt already tell I'm highly money motivated.

Re: What else do you do?

RC airplanes. Kinda sucks though both hobbies require the same weather conditions to really enjoy. Hunting takes up all of my time in the fall. Need to find something to do when the weather sucks, other than play MW2 online.

Re: What else do you do?

Used to be a semi-professional runner, almost made the olympic trials. Kids changed that, now I am lucky to run half that much, work too much, and fix up my property some each year when the family doesn't have me busy.

Re: What else do you do?

Free flight rubber powered scale model airplanes, in the old school, using downloaded plans from designs of the 1930's-1960's. I scratch build the aircraft, essentially balsa stick and lacquered tissue structures, powering them with handmade propellers driven by highly wound rubber bands.

I am slowly branching into models of jets, driven by tiny replaceable commercial rocket motors.

This sport is extremely cheap compared to RC, and right now the most expensive parts are the commercial rocket motors running $1-$1.50 each. Maybe I can figure a way around that. Otherwise, my structures are made from simple balsa wood, tissue and bond paper, and fine piano wire.

The main component is time, the structures can take days to weeks to complete. Being an old retired fart with little money and lotsa time, this is a good fit for my palette of resources.

If you want to know more about it, see this very excellent British website.

Skydiving instructor, road cycling, motorcycling, my doggies, and just picked up the guitar again after 30-some-odd years (lets see if we can teach an old dog a new trick!)

I have one and a second on the way. ^_^

Re: What else do you do?

My two boys keep me pretty busy but whenever I get a chance I like to go shooting/hunting, rock climbing, and hiking throughout the Northwest. I will hopefully summit Rainier for the first time this year...way to many hobbies, all of which cost a significant amount of money.

My 10 year old has been in for one year and my 8 year old is going to training day 3 on Saturday. It is also there Spaghetti Dinner/auction Saturday Night. They are also going to Parris Island This summer for one week. I enjoy the Young Marine Program with my two sons. Other than that its Work, Family chores and church....

Re: What else do you do?

Having time for model aircraft is less of an issue the further North one lives. Right now, we have upwards of a foot of residual snow, despite several days of above freezing weather.

Our Winters afford us anywhere from two to four months when shooting outdoors becomes about as attractive as swimming with polar bears. Real men may sneer at this, but even the wisest doggie knows when he's had enough.

I find that the time/labor intensive aspect of the model building process goes a long way toward dispelling the inevitible cabin fever. This way, I can hit the Spring running, with planes to fly, and ammo to shoot.

Re: What else do you do?

Other hobbies in the winter: Video games, reading, playing cards, repairing small things around the house, spending a lot of time with my wife, animals, and other family (my mom and dad, her mom, and my grand-dad).

Summertime hobbies: Gardening, hiking, fishing, swimming, fixing major things around the house and outdoors, camping, and porch-sitting with family and animals listed above.

Re: What else do you do?

Loving Panty 6 falls between a hobby, and an irrational obsession with her, heh heh heh, assets.

The boys, well, when they bring home letters of recommendation for Scholarly Trips for gifted kids, Medals for outstanding science projects(Torin, age 11, as judged by the Austin Pea SU science professors), Perfect grades, recommendations for gifted class attendance, recommendations for advanced prep classes(Sam, age 13) I would say that hobby is not even close, but damn I am a Proud Dad!

Re: What else do you do?

Well I like to fish and hunt and scuba dive and mess around with my son teching him things and spending as much time as I can with the him and the wife and dogs.

Being deployed so damn much has really shot that to shit. Its hard to do when you doing three tours over here for 12 to 15 months. Then in between that spending all you time out in the field or at NTC or JRTC training up to deploy again.

Re: What else do you do?

There's one of those in my Daughter's Garage, only it was completed with a Corvair power package, 4-Bbl and all. Son-in-Law's. Did wheelies, but has been off the road now for over a decade. Restoration is slotted for this Spring.
