i was interested in the bugnut that was announced over t scout, but have not seen a thread here on ther motherland site yet.

is this still available? has anyone received theirs yet and how does it stack up?

There's a thread here somewhere. It has moved forward and they're offering it. All they need apparently is the info on your action and the thread pitch.

The main advantage appears to be the profile. It doesn't add much thickness compared to the Remage system. When I replaced the 308 barrel on my R700 with a 260 Remage I had to open up the barrel channel for the nut.

Heyo,

I've ordered one earlier this year, I actually hear a lot of people have been orderin' em', there's a wait time. Mine should be coming within the month. I will post up my thoughts/reports on it as soon as I get the chance to use it! Greg over at SPR was really helpful and patient about answering questions and getting me set up.

For me, the main advantage of it vs a Remage was four-fold:

-The ability to use a premium barrel (they can be made from any blank you can find/provide, mine is a Bartlein).
-The slimmer profile nut.
-The customization options (they are made to order, so you choose the length, threads, contour etc... While Remage barrels limit you to what's in stock).
-And of course the aesthetics.

For this, you do pay more of course, it just depends on what's important to you.
