What finish is closest to AI's Flat Dark Earth?

I have been checking the cerakote and duracoat websites to find the the closest offering to that of Accuracy International's "Flat Dark Earth" color .

I am aware that there are a myriad of FDE offerings, but no one seems to be able to match the almost dog/baby poop shade with the ever so subtle tinge of green.


Any thoughts?

None. Their FDE is unlike the paint colors for FDE. Hard to describe, but the AI is more towards orange/green if you know what I mean, while the paints are more towards grey/green/brown.

I think you will have to mix colors to get close to the AICS. But you could put some primer on the AICS and spray that as well. That way you are 100% sure it is the same color and will not have to get 10 colors to find the right combination.

I once tried to match Gunkote FDE with my duracoat paints and had to use three colors to match it.

LCW will custom mix paint for you but you have to send them a sample, kind of a PITA

There isn't a ready to go cerakote color that matches the AI FDE stock. However, I could make a custom color match to match up to the AI FDE, or sometimes it is best to just coat the stock in the color of your choice as well.
