What is the advantage of a monolithic upper - AR10

Looking at different build options and deciding what type of upper to order from Mega Arms. I'm leaning towards their new monolithic MA-10 upper but I'm starting to think about the extra weight. Accuracy is my primary goal for this build but it has to be light enough to be practical. Is a monolithic upper a big accuracy advantage? Is the accuracy gained worth the extra weight? Would a standard upper and free float handguard combination be just as accurate? Any opinions and real world experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry no real world experience, but I believe the advantage of a monolithic upper is not having to use a cantilever scope mount.

My understanding was that the mono upper added stiffness to the whole upper. That way torque on the forend is distributed throughout the upper instead of being transfered to the barrel nut area. Kind of like free floating the barrel but one step further. I'm probably wrong, so someone please feel free to correct me...

I like them because they make a good platform for rail mounted front sights (especially when using a rifle length upper on a carbine).

I wish someone would make a monolithic upper with an integral rail on the top and modular rails at 3,6,9 O'Clock.

Same plane mounting surface...ie more level real-estate.

Dtarget, they do make a modular monolithic its the Mega Arms modular Mega Arms.
