Good article, thanks for posting. I’ve dabbled in some of this with my labradar.
When I compare my average measured BCs to those published by Litz, I’m lower by .002, almost like clockwork.
I’ve seen individual bullets be off by as much as .030 though.
Knowing that different powders and muzzle brakes affect drag is interesting, but i’m not sure how much the knowledge affects what we do. My rifle setup doesn’t change frequently. And I stick with the same powder when I find a good load, and if I switch I don’t expect ballistics to stay exactly the same.
Going out and trueing our ballistics in the field is more or less building our own custom model.
I suppose if we could do it faster and cheaper with this emerging tech, there is some value in that.
