I have had a polish under folder for 10 years. It has sat in the safe unfired and in perfect condition for a longtime. I took it to a gun-show to sell it to buy something else I could shoot. And 5 different people told me the thing was ILLEGAL cause of no serial number on the lower. I bought this from a dealer and did a 4473 on the rifle. It has a large serial in the trunnion. How do I make this a sell-able rifle or do I just have to keep it? I do know a number is supposed to be on the receiver but just never though about it since I bought it from a dealer. If this question in misplaced on this forum let me know.

That's a tough one, you may want to call the atf and ask them what to do. Maybe you can do something on a form 1.

Sounds like it is a home build from a receiver blank.I'm guessing there are no mfg markings on the receiver as well? I wold think that since a 4473 has already been done on it that it would negate a form 1. I agree that the best bet would be to contact batfe for guidance. Hopefully you can just stamp the SN on receiver and call it a day. You do still have the copy of your old 4473 right?

Yes,I am going to pick the 4473 up after work from the dealer I bought it from. I hope it is something that can get done. Here is another question a Class 2 manufacture is right down the road from me. Would it be possible for him to book it in engrave it and do another 4473?

Stamp the serial number on the receiver. The receiver should have the name,city & state of the manufacturer. I have built a few AK's and always marked the info on the receiver as well as the serial number.
