What length barrel for 6X47 Lapua ?

Just curious what length barrel guys are running for a Tactical 6X47 Lapua ? Pard has one he doesn't think is long enough and I am curious whether its all in his head or not . If you have loads and velocities your getting that would be great as well .

I ran a 6x47L until recently, I was running a 26" Rock Creek barrel, 1/8.5" twist. You could go with a 24" but you will give up a few FPS, and that is what the caliber is all about.

To answer the velocity qustion, I was rinning 3160 fps using the Berger 105gr VLDs with little if any signs of pressure. When you consider the fact the 105 VLD yields a BC 0f .556, its a great combo.

The TUBB DTAC 115s shoot good as well, although it seemed very hard to reach the 3000 + fps mark without starting to run into pressure signs.

I plan on building mine with a 20" tube but i also plan on running the light 68grn SRBR bullets for prairie dogs and coyotes. But if i was planning on building one for use with the 105's i would use a 26"

26" is what I ran, R17 was getting the Dtacs to 2975 or so without pressure. I stopped there because I had accuracy and some matches have 3000 fps limits.
