Rifle Scopes What mag range for PRS style comps

Hey guys my goal for this year is to get into PRS style comps. I have a few scopes in different mag ranges and I wanted to know what you guys are using for comps. I've got 4-16x, 3-15x, 6-24x, etc. I comfortable on all of them so that's not really an issue. Glass is pretty good on all of them. I plan on shooting a 6.5 creed if that makes a difference.
Is a 3-15x a good choice because of the huge FOV?
Or the 6-24x because of the higher mag?
So what are you guys using for comps? Thanks!

I prefer magnification to about 25x. But in reality, you'll find yourself using 10-15x in most matches that require movement and target acquisition. Once on target, I do zoom in if time allows.

Having a 20-27x top end is good. Years back when we shot for NF and the new 3.5-15 F1 came out we ran it and I found myself wanting more power at times. Yes most of the shooting is done between 12-15x but there are times where you need more on paper drills etc. I like the 24-27x top end.

That said a scope that tracks perfectly is a just so if you have a crappy 24x top end scope and a good 15 or 16x scope I would run the 15-16x.

I have a 5-25 on my match rifle. Not very often do I go higher than 20x. During matches, I bounce between 12-20 power.

5-25x here too. We use them at 12-20x during competition but finding loads and checking groups i like to bump it up to 25x.

3-18 and 4.5-18....18x meets my needs with no issues and as others have mentioned, I have done most of my shooting between 12-15x.

+1 on using the higher mag range scopes. shooting a match, 10-18x, usually 12-16x for me depending on the distance.

I think my Vortex AMG is perfect for magnification and weight. It is like Vortex sat down with a piece of paper and said, "Let's design the best balanced PRS scope."

Usually only use 12-15 but it's nice to have 25 if needed/wanted

I think my 5-25x scope ends up set as high as 18-20x max during competition.
I've also gotten away with 5x at the low end, which I've so far only used to locate a target before I dial up the mag.
I think 15x could be enough at the top end, but it's nice to have higher mag available.
4-20 might be the best range I've seen for the comps around here (which top out at around 700 yards).

I've been running a 5-25, but just switched to the 4-20. I think either are great..

I rarely go above 15X in a match. Only time I may do it is for know your limit stages that are paper based or maybe closer very small targets.

There was a couple times I did go to 4X for very close target engagements. Mostly 6-8X is the lowest I go for offhand shooting and similar unstable positions.

Even shooting at ELR, it's rare I go above 20X. Above 20X narrow field of view and mirage really impact how you shoot.

I'd be pretty happy with a scope that was just 5-20X. 3-15x is more than adequate for most steel match stages I've ever shot.

I shot my first match this past weekend. I have a SFP Vortex Viper, 6.5x20 with Mil dot reticle. My dots are only correct at 14x so I shot the entire match at 14x. Targets from 280 to 800 yards and I didn't have any trouble acquiring targets at the close distances, nor trouble calling my shots at the longer distances. Not that this is the best solution, but it certainly is workable.
