Rifle Scopes What picatinny rail scope mount do you use on Bergara HMR?

I hope this is the right section to pop this question...
I just got the wrong EGW scope rail from Amazon. The screws don't fit.
What I have is a short action Bergara HMR pro, and I need 0 MOA mount, for a 1-inch tube. What options do I have?
Thanks!

I used a NF rail. It’s 20 MOA, steel w/ a recoil lug. My B14 uses 6x48 screws though.
You’re premier or pro action uses 8x40 screws. I’ve seen 0 MOA rails w 8x40 screws on Brownells. I’m sure there’s others.

You might want to check with Bergara when your Bergara was made. I heard they switched what type of screws they use in the newer Bergara Premier production rifles. A quick e-mail will save you return hassles.
Their customer service usually responds within one day.

Is there a reason you want a 0 MOA rail? The reason I ask is that as everyone else's response has shown most of us use the 20 MOA rail which enables you to reach out further by giving you a bit more elevation adjustment range. By the way the scope tube diameter does not determine the type of rail you need, that is determined by the length of your action (short action, or long action). Tube diameter and the size of the scope objective will dictate however what type of rings you'll need.

This isn't intended as an insult but I do sense you are relatively new to this so please don't take this the wrong way it is intended to help you out with understanding what the MOA designation in regards to Picatinny rails stands for.

Thanks man, I will shoot them an email. I do have a 20 MOA rail here. But I haven’t saved up to the right scope yet. Right now I only put a Leupold 3.5-10 on top of it and it ran out elevation adjustment at 100 yards. But I understand ultimately 20 MOA is the way to go, I want a decent scope on top of it. :)

In that price range I'd look into the Vortex Viper PST Gen. II 5-25x50, First Focal Plane, or if you can find it on sale the sturdier Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50, First Focal Plane. MOA, or MRAD is determined only by habit, or personal preference.

Yes, vortex razor gen 2, someone else steel my that way too. Nightforce keeps value better I presume.
If you find a NightForce ATACR, or Vortex Razor GEN 2 for in between $1,000 - $1,500 let me know. I'm sure that someone steered you towards those, I'm not sure why they stopped there and did not advocate for a Schmidt & Bender. My point being is that they don't fit in your budget expectations.
Prices for the Razor GEN 2 are usually right around $2,000 the ATACR somewhere around $2,500 up, or down. Not meaning to crush any hopes but both the Vortex Viper PST GEN 2, or the 1st GEN Razor HD are solid performers in the mid-level and within the range you described. The Vortex Viper PST Gen. II 5-25x50, First Focal Plane usually goes for right around $1,000, on sale I've seen the lowest price at $799.99 and they sold out fast. The Razor HD currently goes for around $1,700 but is so rugged you might find a used one, or a sale within your budget. Vortex will cover even a used one with its lifetime warranty no questions asked.

If you are a veteran you could also check out their military discount program. I don't work for Vortex but it's what I use because my total budget for rifle, scope, mounts, bipod, a.s.o. usually reaches the pain threshold at $3,000.

I probably can afford more expensive scope but I don't see the point to do so. Where I live, I barely can find a range longer than 300 yards. Even for night force, I probably only need SHV model. ATACR and NXS, or benchrest...beast are too fancy for me. Like you said, $3000 is the pain threshold. I follow a similar rule, which is, buy a scope at least worth as much as your rifle. Vortex razor looks pretty good to me.

Here's what I did with mine and it's the Vortex Razor HD 5-20x50 (Gen 1), FFP, EBR-2B MOA Reticle with the Tenebraex 50VTX0ARD killflash added on instead of the sun guard. It's the B14 because the Pro wasn't available for sale when I got it.
