I want to do precision reloading of 338LM. Really I'd rather just make my own loads using correct data. I've never reloaded before though.

So can anyone give me advice on a press to get me started? I've thought about dillon but I'm not sure I need a $650 press just to make ammo for a bolt gun. It's not a semi auto rifle and I plan to take my time with my shots.

Press: ?
Bullets: Barnes?
Powder?
What else?

Does anyone make special bullets for 338 like APIT,rufus or anything?

All I have is a 20+ year old RCBS rock chucker and it works fine for my .338LM. But I'am low tech and do most stuff the hard way.
I have been using 300gr matchkings with 92.5gr of H1000 in mine.
And have had good luck, But am gonna try the berger 300gr hybrid this year and will give Retumbo a try. And dont waste your time buyin powder 1 pound at a time as it likes to eat powder.

+1

I like the fact that you can just get the plates too. I have two plates with dies in them.
