I purchased a FN SPR action and purchased a TPS win Model 70 short action scope base. When I got the scope base in I found that the holes did not align and the screws were not correct for the screw holes.

Does anyone know what scope base I need to purchase with the correct sized torque screws?

Re: What scope base for FN SPR?

you'd better call the factory. I thought that the FN's came with a steel 20moa base. The A3G's have a titanium 20moa base.

Re: What scope base for FN SPR?

The FN uses a WSM base, same as the Winchester M70's now have. Winchester is built by FN with the Pre-64 action.

If you measure the distance between the 2 center screw holes and it is 3.500", that tells you that you need a M70 WSM base.

If you use a 2 pc base, that won't matter. It's just when you want a 1 piece. EGW shows this on their rails and lists the bolt hole dimensions for reference.

I can confirm the a3 has a titanium base. We needed to cut mine just a little bit for bell/eye relief. And the sparks coming off were bluish. Ti.

Some of them came with Badger bases, most came with Near bases.
