Two totally separate stories that came across my desk today. Both are from different sources that were not linked on a news aggregation site. The first is about a film being awarded in Berlin about a Syrian migrant changing the racist views of German people.

The second is about a criminal afgan that just drove his car into a crowd of women and children.
The most non-shocking part of this:
"Local police identified the suspect as a 24-year-old asylum seeker from Afghanistan who had his application denied but his deportation decision was suspended under what is called a "tolerance" permit."
