Hey guys,

I'm new here, just started long range shooting about a month ago. I have a Savage Predator model 10 in 223, 22" barrel, i believe 1 in 9 twist. What would be the best ammo for this #1 at 100 yards, and #2 at 600 yards? Any information would help! Thanks.

any kind match ammo should do from makers like hornady, blackhills, and federal gold medal match. all of them should get you sub moa groups. though really, best would be if you reload and tweak the ammo to your rifle. you would get the best results that way.

Any type of powder u recommend? Varget? H335?

Im new to reloading too. Just started and would rather start buying some rounds before loading. I do 55gr with h335 havent tried my own recipes yet.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll try the higher gr bullets

Varget works very well for the 69 and up bullets.

RL 15 also works well for the heavies.

I have used the Prvi Partizan 69 grain bullets to reload with, they were utter crap. Ended up using them to reload for my AR.

I had decent luck with the Prvi 75 grain bullets, they are a decent practice bullet and are actually good for pigs.

69 grain match kings or Nosler custom competition mixed with about 24.5 grains of Varget are an awesome combo.

If you go to the lighter match bullets in the 53 - 62 grain range, use a faster powder.
