She probably wouldn't have even acknowledged their existence enough to see the hat fall. Then again those men would have probably had to help her up those stairs.

I will note my surprise that the Lance Corporal under arms, once his cover is resecured, appears to prefer the tight, squared away, "you cant see my killing eyes", in your face, donning of his barracks cap.

While....

SSGT, cant even be trusted with a sidearm let alone one bullet, prefers the Gomer Pyle "Goooollllllly" tipped back, "Ive just swilled 15 Pabst" cant to his cover.

Looks like the SNCO should have been chasing his shit down the tarmac.

Im guessing the Staff boards the aircraft, thus no pistolero to ND into a rotor blade or critical hydraulic line. Apparently his experience might include a staple gun with a few discreet tacks to the less visible area of the skull preventing the dilemma the young Lance faced.

Ill give the Lance Coolie big props he held his military bearing pretty solid.

I wonder why in pomp and circumstance situations we ignore standard rules so that we can have extra etiquette for extra sunshine factor.
"On an active flight line, you do NOT wear unsecured headgear.". This includes Garrison caps, patrol caps, Marine covers and boonie hats with the stampede/hurricane string not secured under the wearers chin. Helmets worn will have the chin strap secured. Campaign hats (drill cadre) will have the headstrap down and secured.

Saluting is a distraction on a flight line. Therefore, as in combat, will be suspended until in a suitable area.

This goes on president after president. Breaking hard learned lessons/rules about dress and actions around aircraft...and the dangers associated. What if that stupid hat got sucked into an engine? And, the aircraft needed to depart immediately?

FWIW, it's on video somewhere that during a stupid little mishap, the queen of bitches herself did in fact, not acknowledge the incident and continue on to the aircraft...expecting it to depart immediately.

From past evidence of hill's treatment of Security/Services.
She would have waited till the cameras were off and had a full blown tirade/swear fest on this individual.
Most importantly as it deflected attention of her egress into Marine 1.
