What's the E/S and S/D of your go to precision 22LR ammo?

Since we can't reload and refine 22LR ammo, I was curious what people were seeing with lots of a specific ammo, or whatever their go to precision ammo was as far as E/S and S/D.

I'm trying to figure out, at what point does it simply not really get any better and you're splitting hairs at?

    Any info would be helpful:

    rifle used
    what distances you normally shoot
what an average 5 shot group at 50/100 yards yields
over how many rounds is the E/S and S/D data (this is the primary thing I'm curious about)

The good high end match grade ammo will typically give you single digit SD's and low ES's, which results in relatively tight groups compared to other 22LR ammo. Just how tight the groups will depend on they gun, barrel they're fired out of, AND. . . . the skill of the shooter. Take a look at CCI SV numbers and you'll find one can get some excellent results and a low cost by using them. I like Lapua's Center-X and Federal's Ultra Match and you can see why as they give me good numbers with tight groups of .5" of less at 50 yds with my 10/22 or my RPRF.

PS: I just recently fire a few Eley Club for the first time and had really good results. Check out the numbers.

If you want numbers, I've got some (see the attached PDF file) where you can look at ES and SD numbers for many:

FWIW - Eley tenex ES was 9 fps and SD 3 fps out of my Sako 1,083 fps ... held 1/2” elevation at 200 yards

Eley edge ES 23 SD 12 1,092 fps held 1.25” elevation at 200 yards.

Checked the two types of ammo the my rifle currently shoots best. 3 groups of 5 shots @50 yds for each. CZ 455 w/ Shilen ratchet barrel 20".
    AVE S-D ES
    Fed UM22 1098 11.8 31 .2's and .3's @ 50yds very easy
    1097 7.8 16
    1099 12.2 32
REM EPS 1103 3.3 9 .2's easy On last brick and no more can be had.
    1103 1.4 4
    1102 0 2

Curious about this as well after seeing the 3 for 3 on a 12x12 plate at 395 yards in the ELR match with 22's. That is pretty damn impressive to me.

Under these rules it doesn't sound so easy.

    Bradu,

A 12x12" plate at 400 yards is very repeatable when conditions are consistent.

Catch a great condition and you'll wish you had more ammo and a video crew as that 12x12" plate will seem the size of a city bus.

The Ko2m guys are doing it right by splitting it up with 4 hours in between.

The first round hit is key to this though. It's not like you cherry pick your conditions when you shoot a match. You act like they won't keep shooting if they continue to make hits lol

Not saying you cherry pick conditions.

I'm saying that when conditions become good and guys are setting "world records", I would consider luck to be involved.

Split it up like the ELR guys have done if anything is gonna be referred to as a world record.

I don't care about SD, at all.
Only number that counts is ES.
    SD explains typical group size,
ES is what ruins targets and loses competitions.
ES less than 40 fps is typical match 22lr ammo.
Less than 30 fps spread is good.
Less than 20 is hard to obtain
and less than 10 fps ES is "magic".

At 200 yards, with match 22lr, 1 fps difference in MV
produces 1/10th inch vertical difference in poi.
So to obtain a sub-moa group at 200,
The ES has to be less than 20 fps for 5 shots.
Half moa at 200, less than 10 fps ES.
Confirm for yourself, use your ballistic calculator.

Minimum sample size to test mv spread should not be less than 50 shots.
I won't accept less than 100 shots as proof of ammo quality.

Ruger RPR with Shaw barrel and mid grade ammo shown below. Will run tests with some premium (SK Rifle Match, CenterX, Eley Tenex and UltraMatch) tomorrow but they should run slightly better. But seriously, @straightshooter1 has more 22LR data than most guys have porn links in their search history! It's an awesome resource.... Referring to the 22LR data of course ?.
