Sidearms & Scatterguns What's with the angled stocks on tactical shotguns?

I wondered that also. It seems like it would be angled too much, but when I shoulder it, it feels good and shoots good...

I'm new to shotguns and was wondering why there's such an extreme downward angle on the butt stock of some shotguns. Wouldn't that make the barrel tend to point up under recoil?
I believe that this is how they get the rib up to your eye while butt pad is in shoulder pocket without a high or adjustable comb.

Way long ago, a stock smith would bend a wooden shotgun stock in order to achieve this....dunno anybody who does that anymore.

Thats interesting... well now I know. It's a good thing adjustable stocks are easy to come by these days.
