I have next to no experience with this cartridge, but I have a bunch of ammo, so time to get a gun. I've heard its not very accurate, but some say it is. What do you like and why?

Rabbit cartridge par excellence. Marauding raccoons and such, covered. Headshots on bigger stuff to 100 yards, check. CCI hollow points are pretty wicked medicine for a rimfire.
I’ll take one hands down any day over 22 long rifle.
But my only experience is with Marlin bolt actions. Like the XT model.
One older than me. Wood stock, blued steel and 5 round clips was a shooter. Still owned by my father and still shoots.
Mine’s a 90’s model, stainless and brown laminate stock with the tube magazine under the barrel. At 100 yds it puts them on snuff can sized groups with CCI. Other brands open up for this particular rifle.
I’ve lobbed out to 200-300 just for grins but it’s not meant for that.
Used to put Sprite cans off the front porch about 25 yards and shoot the little lemon picture on the can as a young lad. Maybe we just got lucky with ours, but I love them.

I have a Marlin 882. It’s a sweet little gun. I’ve killed everything with it. Even a 4point buck (don’t tell anyone). Don’t think they’re around anymore, but the 34 jacketed hollow points were fucking savage. Explode on impact and explode anything it hit. Bird parts everywhere. Now, they have 30 grain bullets up to 40. The 30grain tipped shoot well. I’ve reached out to 200 yards easy. Even 250 but it was my crappy optic and lack of a drop chart that held me back.

Honestly. Now. The savage .17 hmr in synthetic stock would be my go to. But a good .22mag is fun. Louder then you’d expect though.
