Which 10/22 tactical stock and where to buy it?

Re: Which 10/22 tactical stock and where to buy it?

Look at the Bell & Carlson Tactical/Varmint stock. They have a cutout for rear bag, front sling stud/bipod mount, and a comfortable grip contour (for me anyways).

It's a great stock for a bench gun, as it's kind of heavy relative to the oem stock. It really comes down to what you're using it for though.

I've also used the Hogue stock. Granted it's not as firm as the B&C and makes barrel contact with a bipod, it's a great solution for a lightweight stock option if you're not shooting prone or from a bench.

Stockystocks, midway, brownells, etc... most sites will have these available last I looked.

I used a Hogue Overmoulded stock on one of my 10/22 builds. It turned out quite well. Not top of the line, but surely not junk either.

I have a Tapco on mine. Its very solid (aside from the standard buttstock but that can be replaced). If money were no object I'd get the Troy Industries T-22 chassis. It's basically a 10/22 chassis using their slim TRX rail (or you can spend a little more and get one with a quad rail) and they come with rail integrated Troy flip up sights. Expensive but if you love shooting .22 like I do then it's well worth the money.

I hope I don't get flamed too much for this, but I have an Archangel stock on my 10/22 and actually like it a lot. I had to do quite a bit of fitting to make it fit well, as well of shimming the free float forend to make it fit straight. I ditched the POS "barrel extension"/fake flash hider assembly, shortened the stock stainless barrel to 16.5", recrowned it, and threaded it 1/2x28. It's currently wearing a standard A2 flash hider and looks awesome.
