Which lower parts kit?

I am looking at lower parts kits and have been quite surprised about the low reviews most get, including Colt. It's either poorly finished, missing, or duplicate parts.

I have already purchased an 18" White Oak barrel and a Magpul PRS. The upper will come from WOA too. The trigger will be some model of Giessele. Other than that I'm pretty open to what I use to finish it off. However, I really won't have much patience for poorly finished parts.

Quality and features can change. So my question is who sells a consistently good lower parts kit these days?

I just built a Mega lower and ended up using the mag release and a bolt catch from a jp lower parts kit. Everything else was upgraded from BAD ass ambi selector. BAD takedown pins. Geiselle trigger which came with trigger pins. Magpul grip comes with a screw.

In all you could just simply do that for high quality parts and just order the remaining pieces or do a cheap parts kit and throw the rest out.

Use Red Barn Armory. You can select specific aftermarket lower parts your want (e.g., badd-ass ambi selector, Giessele FCG, ergo grip, etc.) and not wind up with a bunch of junk parts that you won't need.

If you want an inexpensive but good quality kit without a trigger I would suggest the JP kit as they can be had for under 40 bucks. I'd avoid PSA and some of the other cheaper options as they don't tend to be as consistent.

It's interesting that you said "including colt". Colt isn't a magical company. I've had two. I put so much money into one to get it to run. Finally figured out the receiver wasn't machined square, and if I didn't have a darn good smith, it still wouldn't run. The other was very very inaccurate. If I buy an h bar competition match, the rifle should shoot better than 4" at 100 with match ammo. I ended up selling it. I didn't t mean for this to turn into a colt bashing session, but colt does not really mean quality anymore unless things have recently changed. The post above recommending JP is spot on.

You already purchased WOA so recommending their LPK seems fitting, lol. I would get the LPK minus the trigger then pick-up a better trigger and any ambi or aftermarket parts you want to customize. JP also makes a consistently good LPK.
