Which Scope Mount for my M40 Project

I have most of all the parts I need to build an M40 clone:

6 digit 1967 donor rifle
beever165 stock
Bartlein barrel (on order)
Redfield 1st gen fine reticle scope

Just missing the Wichita sling loops

I have 2 scope mounts to choose from: Redfield Jr and Badger Ordnance reproduction M40
Which scope mount should I use?

Redfield Jr with the correct finish but has the rounded corners

Badger Ordnance reproduction with a parkerized finish

Or send out the Badger Ordnance to have it blued

Personally I would run the Redfield Jr... Just checking, is that Badger base one of the more recent ones to fit later "letter prefix" 700 actions?

The mount came from SWFA a couple of months ago. I put it on top of the receiver and looks like it sits flat. I didn’t know they made different mounts

Yessir I remember they made a 6 digit one and a letter prefix version of that mount but I'm not 100% sure what the difference is between the two... Perhaps @USMCSGT0331 @cplnorton @RTH1800 @pmclaine will see this and have more insight
