Have done my research and it has come down to either:
-20" Varmint upper 1:8 Twist
-20" SPR upper 1:8 Twist

Going with the MLOK handguard and will be threaded but can't decide between the Varmint or the SPR. Will be used as a bench gun from 100-600 yards shooting factory ammo (between 55-77grain to see what it likes) and ARCA mounted on a tripod for coyotes. Thoughts?

Thanks for the input. If you had to do it again would you still go SPR?
I would, but let me emphasize that is based on my military background, a PTSD-driven assumption that every firearm I own I need to be able to use to shoot / move / communicate with, and my ignorance of the clamp on gas block design.

If you are on the fence, I would examine the different barrel contours and the different gas block designs in detail prior to purchase, as these are likely the major differences between the two.

Also of note is that White Oak told me when they used to sell lowers, they got them from Aero.

Makes sense, thanks for the information. That’s interesting about the Aero lowers. I have a Colt lower with a larue mbt-2s trigger in it I was going to attach it too but would eventually like to get a dedicated lower for it since this upper is going to be more of a dedicated bench/coyote gun

I asked White Oak which receiver they used to use as I mated mine to a BCM and there was more upper to lower receiver play than I would have liked.

I got some JP oversized pins and it tightened everything up.

Had I known this prior, I would have confirmed White Oak’s statement with Aero and then bought an Aero lower assuming slightly better fit between receivers.

I may reach out and ask White Oak about Aero. That sure would be nice since Aero is always running fantastic sales on complete lowers.

I have both the SPR and the Varmint. Of the 2 I prefer the SPR as it is a bit more versatile. That said, the varmint can run continuously in hot weather and it doesn't deviate much. Both are incredibly accurate to the point that they shoot better than most bolt actions.

Why buy a barrel mounted in a receiver that may or may not have slop in it? F that noise life is too short for sloppy receivers. Adm4 American defense mfg and don't look back

Pretty sure he’s talking about this-

I have several ADM UIC builds. Really like the ambi lowers, and fit is excellent on all of them.
Thank you, but what does that do that the White Oak upper doesn’t besides the ambidextrous part?

I just installed the 20" varmint, it's a heavy sucker but it shoots good. Keep in mind it has a .875? gas block so factor that into the handguard choice.
I did as well but man so far its performing well still working on what combos it likes best. It is heavy but hope it does well with 60gr v max for yotes.

I'm having good results with the 77 SMK with both Varget and CFE223 , 50 Barnes Varmint Grenade with Varget, 43 Speer TNT Green and H335. I'm stuck in California so I have to stick with unleaded projectiles for critters. I would bet the 60 Vmax will be great.

Man that gives me good insight on light weight bullets. I was worried they wouldnt work well. I have many powders to use CFE233 Tac, varget, 4198, H322, H335,
Blc-2, SW ar plus, staball match. Want to try some VV140/135 and benchmark.

I like how my ADM lower has that little pusher that presses against the upper receiver to make an extra tight fit.

I feel like most people don't use them. I guess not all grips have the extra hole to adjust them and doing it without the grip sucks.

At this point I go for every extra bit of love I can get.
