If there were only these two scopes made in the world. The Leupold VX-R 3-9 and the Zeiss Conquest 3-9....Which would you choose if you were shooting either 223 or 308 200 yards or less. I know there are multitudes of other options. I'm just asking your opinion on what you'd choose between these two scopes and at the range specified. Used for mainly hunting and some target (but not competitive). I've handled both scopes and like both. Just looking for other users input.

Re: Which would you choose out of these two choices

I'd pony up the extra $100 and get the VX-R patrol and have a mil TMR reticle with matching mil knobs. However I can't really say that until I get my hands on the new Leupold.

I'm hoping to have the new patrol model by this weekend.

I'll be comparing:
NF 5.5-22
SS 5-20
Vortex PST 2.5-10
Leupold VX- R Patrol 3-9

Who knows there might be a few members there with other known scopes.

strictly hunting- zeiss. if you want to be turning knobs and/or want illumination- leupold. if your leaning towards the leupold, also look at the SS 3-9.

Re: Which would you choose out of these two choices

Sounds like you need a hunting optic. The Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 is the BEST hunting scope for under $400. Hell, its the best value I've seen. If it were illuminated, I'd never look for a different short-range hunting scope.
