How’s the EBR-7B reticle in your Vortex AMG doing in low light? Different mag levels?

It’s hard to tell in daylight at the gun shop. Hearing reports the reticle is too thin, too cluttered.

I’m trying to compare to the NF ATACR 4-16 with milC and milXT.

I am. It does VERY well in low light. I leave my magnification low until I need to dial it up, but in low light or high mirage situations I try to stay around 12-15x probably? I haven’t really payed attention to that, but I know when I can’t see, I can still see through my AMG quite a bit longer and tell what’s at the feeder (100-150 yards usually). Shooting steel until dark I notice I can also see Steel at range for quite a bit. I don’t really have any quantitative information, but I can subjectively say the light gathering is very good. Very clear glass.
The only thing that I might consider over the AMG is a Tangent Theta if I had the money. Otherwise the increased cost doesn’t justify the slight performance gain of any other optics in my opinion.

The AMG with the 7b reticle is my go to scope for my two primary hunting rifles. I’ve used it in pretty much every condition imaginable and it’s performed flawlessly. I just took a cow elk at 580 yards 5 minutes after legal shooting time.... in the middle of a snow storm. I was at 12x and had no problem picking out the cow I wanted. I went through several hunting scopes including an S&B PMII, Kahles K624, and a couple Vortex PST’s. I’m sticking with the AMG. The weight, size, reticle and glass are just about perfect in my experience.

I’m loving my AMG for a hunting scope. Locking turrets, great glass, spot on tracking, and weighs a lot less than my Gen 2 Razor. With that said, the NF Atacrs are great for hunting scopes as well. I ran the 4-16 for a while but decided I liked having more magnification.
