Range Report Who has the best price on Federal GMM .308 175gr?

Re: Who has the best price on Federal GMM .308 175gr?

A lot of police agencies seem to use the 168s as issue ammo...but for longe range the 175s being more desireable, are in high demand.

I dont know if Federal produces more 168s but if so I wish they would kick out more 175s. It is about as good as it gets in my rifle and my handloads are just barely edging it out accuracy wise for a lot of work. If I could afford it I would just stockpile it.

There isnt a single go-to that I know of, you just have to keep searching. I have found it in the last year for 600 shipped a case but not better than that.

I think the reason is that more people are going with the 175's more than the 168's - a suppy and demand thing.

Also, if you are not shooting long distances, at least 800 and above, the 168's are more than fine for that.

I think you mean:: 168s are fine for shooting out towards 800 yards, while the 175s are better after 800 yards.

Yea, awkward sentence - I mean if you are shooting less than 800 yards the 168's are fine for that.

Ordered 2 cases from the above yesterday. The guy I talked to (owner?) was very personable and we talked about his long range shooting a bit. Saw FGMM 175 SMK at Cabellas last Sunday and it was priced over $40 for 20 rd box.

To agree with the above, 168's are fine for 800 yards and under...but they start getting real sketchy out towards that point. Especially compared to the 155 Scenars I shot this weekend...night and day difference at 800 yards lol.
