Guys, fired my first batch of .308 handloads today and was happy but have some questions. First thing I noticed is the lighter loads of powder had higher impacts than the hotter ones. They were shot at a 100yrds. I was shooting different loads in half grain increments. I started at 42.5 gr moving up to 44 gr of Varget.

As a side note is 45-46 grs Varget sound to hot for the .308? I haven't noticed any signs of over pressure yet. Any help would be appreciated.

no one can answer this question w/o bullet weight

In the same weapon the faster the bullet leaves, the lower it will shoot, do to the recoil cycle, same as in pistol.
