Re: Why nothing on the IOR....
80 MOA is lame for a 40mm tube...there's basically no benefit and scope ring selection goes way down with a tube that size.
IOR doesn't get the love that some other brands get on this site. Many here have them and love them, but IOR had some previous QC and CS concerns in a couple of instances. There were some floating around with particles in (on) the glass and some failed to hold up under day-to-day field abuse. There were a couple of reports that customer service was less than stellar...which is the point of no return for many shooters. I have heard, however, that IOR has recently made steps in the right direction in both the QC and CS departments.
This isn't enough for many, however, as this demographic ('Hide members and the like) holds customer service and quality control to the utmost standards. Word of a QC or CS fail gets out quickly, and with these guys (and myself) it's a "one strike and you're out...FOREVER"-type deal. Completely understandable with products in this price range, and considering the use that many members here put them to (read: life or death, literally). This is why companies like USO, S&B, NightForce, and Premier get so much support here. Their QC is unmatched, and customer service is legendary.
That said, IOR seems to make a fine product, and most report that the glass is very clear and bright.
