Sidearms & Scatterguns will a 1911 with a rail fit a regular 1911 holster

Re: will a 1911 with a rail fit a regular 1911 holster

I dont think that will fit usually. I talked to crossbreed a while back since I have a railed sig... They told me their holster for a taurus 1911 rail would work ok.

Hope that helps a bit.

Nope...you will need to order a holster specifically for your rail.

Fortunately many holster makers offer a railed version, since there are so many out there. Just note that the holster is specific to your gun or at least that the rail matches the shape of yours, as there are several configurations of rails out there.

no or maybe. my boned holster that fits a standard 1911 wont fit my kimber tle/rl but a more roomy less fitted holster may fit a railed one. there is alot more metal there with the rails than witout. you may as well put the light on and get a holster designed to accomodate it. i have a desantis thats made for railed 1911s as well thats nice

my desantis is a speed scabbard. two position, says it fits the tle/rl and gold match/rl i believe and the springfield trp. here is something that may help you. i asked about holsters and this post is that result

and i dont really carry, i just wanted a holster that would fit the pistol with it attached for when im on my own property and i want a light and a firearm in one. kydex is rough on stuff. my kimber and tlr light are wearing at contact points. i find myself collecting holsters. one for this, one for that, one that i can wear this way, one another way. adding a railed pistol just gives me another set of holsters, lol. i just bought one and i am looking for another i saw just a few days ago

I think Dillon has a holster listed for a 191 with a rail. Not sure if they stock it or if it's an order thing.

Might want to take a look at Fobus holsters...they make the most comfortable holster I have ever worn...outside the pants but has a neoprene like blade that tucks into your pants. Works great with my 1911 w/ rail.

The inexpensive, but decent quality blackhawk SERPA holsters are made to fit either Railed or standard. I know mine is and my standard does not fit sloppy. Its a very good kydex holster for the $45 bucks, give or take a few bucks.

All my 1911 holsters work with my EDC that has a rail. It is not a full rail....Springfield Champion Operator. I carry it most often in a Crossbreed made for a regular 1911. I am sure it depend on the holster.
