Purchased a barrel thinking it fit a Winchester 52. When I got it home and compared to another 52 barrel, I realized it was not the same. Did different versions of the 52 (b,c,d) use different barrel threads? Or maybe the barrel is for a Remington 37? With 2 exctractor cuts, I assume it fits a bolt action.

I don't have any official dimension for a Win 52 barrel. I couldn't find anything on-line.

Here are the stats
Eric Johnson 5 Star Barrel
Threaded section portion:
Dia - .780
length - .685
TPI - 20

Straight section:
Dia - .675
Length - .520

Thanks for the help.

Re: Win 52 or Rem 37 Barrel?

Most likely a A or B barrel. Winchester made some changes when they made the move to the C. I've not compared barrels but the receiver and bolts are quite different. A C and D are the same as for barrels. Most of the factory barrels have a two digit date on the bottom and you can use that to guess which gun it was for. Any other info on the barrel? Donald
