My nephew has an 1897 take down model 12 gauge. The bottom of the receiver where the magazine tube threads in has been flattened over the years. The interrupted threads are fine. Is it worth while to try to reform the receiver? This is a beater shotgun but it is his pride and joy. The gun was made in 1911. I will post pictures in the am. Thank you all!

Bull Creek Arms did a trench gun conversion to my 1897 Winchester and did fantastic work. They also have a lot of parts and do repair work on 1897's, perhaps you can send them a picture and see what their assessment is?
