Winchester 70 Project - 7mm REM Mag

I just picked up a 7mm Rem Mag from Gunbroker on the cheap. This is a 1997 model with a blank magazine. I'm wanting to build an Elk rifle with it. The stock is cheap synthetic. I'm looking to go with either a B&C or H-S Precision. For the bottom metal I'm trying decide between a DBM or 1 piece hinged floor plate. The downside is with the rifle is it holds 3+1. Should I go with the DBM or the 1 piece. B&C or H-S. Looking for a nice mid-range rifle when I'm done.

I think I got a killer deal on an H&S stock ($225). The seller on gunbroker said it didn't fit him well and it had never been shot. We will see.

I've not shot a bolt action with only a three round magazine. Of course I've never needed more than four rounds.

Being oal limited by mags also sucks. In my box mag I can get +.085 oal over a dbm.
