With the price of ammo raising lately I decided I needed to get a 22 long rifle upper. I tried to order one from Nordic well over a year ago. I gave up and went with DPMS. I do a lot of indoor shooting in the winter at my 50 foot range. The next problem was an optic that will focus at that distance. On my target rifle I have a Leupold EFR 6-20x. I didn't want to drop $700 on a scope for this build. Nikon recently came out with this new line. It has the ability to focus down to 10 meters. Its build to withstand air rifles as well. The scope along with their mount is a great combination. As usual the optics are crystal clear and it tracks perfectly. Now some semi auto rifles can be picky as far as what you feed them. Winchester recently introduced the M22 ammo with a 1250fps velocity. Today I fired 300 rounds of it though my new upper without one jam. The groups are very much the same as CCI velocitor and Eley Club. It seems this upper will eat anything you feed it. I tried almost 15 different brands with no trouble at all. The upper wasn't as accurate as I had hoped but its great for training. Being that its metal the weight is similar to my M4. Its nice using the same lower so you get used to one trigger and controls. At 50 yards the rifle will print 1.5 in groups. Ive used the S&W MP22 and don't care for the plastic lower. Overall between the optics, ammo and upper the build turned out great. I would highly recommend all three. I hope in the future Nikon will introduce a model with higher magnification.

I did a few mods to the upper( La Rue hand guard and Vortex flash hider)
