I'm really thinking hard about this....I have often over looked wolf ammunition but I am now looking & seeing the price & supply as a big plus for it. I've thought about buying some & building up my supply for a "just in case" need! What are your thoughts on them, I don't want guesses.....I want the NO BS TRUTH. Here's what I'll run the ammo in if the case I need it:

SOCOM 16, M1A, AR15, 1911A1, GLOCK 17

Here's what I'm looking at:
55gr .223 FMJ
62gr .223 FMJ
62gr .223 Hollowpoints
150gr .308 FMJ
230gr 45ACP FMJ
115gr 9MM FMJ
150gr .308 SP

Thoughts or any information???

No it won't hurt your guns. (other than maybe wearing the finish on the shell deflector faster than brass).</div></div>

+1. I have shot a bunch of the 9mm, .45 and .223 over the years especially back when it was cheap at $89/1000 for 9mm and .223. Never hurt anything on my guns. A little dirtier than other factory ammo but goes bang and does ok with accuracy.

Re: Wolf Ammunition.....Thoughts, Data......

I shot it for years before I started handloading. It is great for ARs, AKs, FALs, handguns, etc.

It will run your guns fine. Handloading is cheaper and makes way better ammo, though.

Re: Wolf Ammunition.....Thoughts, Data......

I've used the:

.223 55gr FMJ (in AR's and Mini-14's)
.45 230 gr FMJ (in 1911's by Springfield, Colt, Ed Brown, and HK USP's)
9mm 115gr FMJ (in Glocks, Sigs, and HK's)

....and the stuff works just fine.

Re: Wolf Ammunition.....Thoughts, Data......

Never had any problems with they're older stuff. Ran through a few cases of 223, a case or two of 9mm and some hundreds of 40 & 45 & a couple hundred 380. Never had any issues, malfunctions.....multiple glock pistols, f/a m11-9, several ar's & ak type rifles.
However.... in the past year, with newer lots of ammo, I have had two different M&P pistols (9mm & 40), both have a failure to extract and a the case rim kinda breaks/rounds off where the extractor pulls on the case.....leaving pistols inoperable (unless you gotta rod/screwdriver/stick/etc to push case out of chamber). Had the same thing happen in one of my glock 22's....stuck case in chamber, extractor could not grasp case rim to extract, rim was basically rounded off where extractor pulls it.
With the 223 now. Two seperate rifles, both sig 556's, same lot of most recent ammo.....stuck cases in chamber, broken off rim on cases.....had to rod out of chamber via muzzle.
A couple weeks ago, brand new colt 6940 rifle, first shot out the thing.....guess what.....yep.....stuck case.
Did have a couple failure to fires (primer hit/round didn 't go off) with the most recent 223 lot also.
Said enough was enough, packed up the rest and sent the last case back under they're performance guarnatee for refund.
On the flip side to that... it did exhibit exceptionally good accuracy, both with the pistol ammo and rifle.

Re: Wolf Ammunition.....Thoughts, Data......

Have had failure to extract issues in 2 ARs shooting Wolf recent production. The polimer coating seems to start sticking after the chamber gets hot. Had to knock the stuck case out from the muzzle. Cleaning that stuff out of the chamber was a real bitch, too. I won't shoot it anymore in my ARs.
Still shoot the hell out of it in my Mini-30 (7.62X39)with no issues.
Never have had any of it in any other cal.

Re: Wolf Ammunition.....Thoughts, Data......

ak have loser action and chamder that is y wolf shoots good in ak and sks but ar have tighter actions that is y wolf dose not shoot good but ar are more accurat ak

Re: Wolf Ammunition.....Thoughts, Data......

Is there any simple way to remove that polymer coating?

It seems to me that it's there to prevent corrosion. But once you're ready to shoot it, you don't need corrosion protection anymore.
