Wolf Precision - 2011 LR Shooting School Dates, PA

Spring and Fall classes are open for registration.

Class size is limited to 12. Classes will be held at Gander Mountain in Johnstown, Pa and range time on private ground with Shooting up to 1000 yards. This is a precision shooting class and is for folks with basic to intermediate shooting skill levels. Class room in the morning, lunch is provided and range time in the afternoon. If you do not have a rifle ready we have seeral availble for use at the school that are set up and ready to go. Details can be found on our website.

Bump for a good guy and a great class.

I attended the September 2010 class and had a blast. The first half of the day is spent in the classroom, and the second half in the field applying what you learned. The private range is awesome, and very helpful in learning the effects of wind (one portion of the land blocks the wind, while the other side leaves the wind unblocked). It was a lot of fun and very helpful for anyone wanting to go on a hunting trip or get into tactical matches. I would definitely recommend this course.

Thanks Dave for the nice post and I just have to say for a guy who has only gotten into shooting a couple years ago, you are a heck of a good shot and will go far if you keep after it. The first shooter to ever altmost clean the shooting test (only missed one shot). I made the new test a little more difficult bocouse of how well you cleaned it : )

Thanks Jamie.. and if I remember correctly, I don't think I missed any for the test. BTW- Sorry again for banging up your steel. That 7WSM and 338LM only get along with AR500 haha.

Your right - you cleaned the course, I think the only target you missed was the optional challenge shot. That was some great shooting Dave!

That 7WSM sure is a hitter, tested some of the targets with a 300WM at 300 yards and no problems but that short mag blew right through. I Have lots of AR500 for the magnums this year : )

I've been seriously looking to attend one of you classes, but I fear the Fiance' may have put the brakes on that for a little while (something about saving money for a wedding

)
Although once I do get the opportunity to attend I may just have to tote the BMG along just for a "group fun gun" I think it's one of those things everybody has to try just once

Thanks for running a great class. I had a great time, learned a few more things, and got re-enforcement on the things I need to focus on. Ready or not, I'm going to try to get into a few matches this summer and see how things go. I'm sure I'll learn a lot from that, too.

Anyone thinking of taking the class - Jamie does a good job of presenting the material such that beginners can grasp it. If you are totally new to this, the classroom portion will not leave you behind. If you are not new to this, it is still presented in a way to hold your interest, and you will probably learn a few new things. I know I had some things that I had learned in a class last year that had fallen through the cracks in my memory, and it was good to have them refreshed.

On the firing line, there is enough steel out there to allow everyone to be challenged. And I think the new shooters will be surprised at how fast they work out to the longer distances with good hits. And we had different weather each day, which helped enhance the learning a bit more. It wasn't just "repeat what you did yesterday" to make hits. You had to pay attention to the environment the whole time.

To everyone in the class - it was good shooting with all of you. I hope to run into you again at other events.

ETA- Dave, either stay single or fill out your gun collection before getting married. That was some impressive hardware you had there. I'm just glad I bought a scope before I looked through yours!

Hank and Sled, It was nice to finally meet you guys and thanks for the feedback. At least we had one day that it didn't rain on us : ) Hank, we couldn't convince our wives it was work to make that video : ) Let me me know when you want to come up chuck hunting to get in the VHA 1000 yard club.
