I was thinking about tring some of the wolf primers in my .308 but i have heard that the primers are a little tight and wanted to know if they are working out in the lapua brass
thanks for any input
I load wolf LR primers in Lapua brass and it is a VERY tight fit.
In fact I broke a Lee Priming tool the other day trying to get a particularly tough primer in.
Just went thru 5000 Large Magnum Rifle (FYI the standard LR have copper cup, the Large Mag Rifle have a brass cup not more primer mixture just harder). Wolf primers have consistantly give lower ES and SD than Fed 210 or BR2 in my rifles and have been tested alot by some other with simular results. The over size and hardness of the LMR primers has been a plus running long range loads (warm loads)in my AWAI .308
would the std Large Rifle compare to the br2 and large rifle mags be a stronger cup then the br2? I am using the br2 and would like to use the wolf to replace them.
thanks
I think the Wolf Large Magnum Rifle would have a harder cup than BR2. My personal preference is for harder cups they resist cratering and have several other advanatages IMO.
