what do you carry when your out woods bumming? [taking a walk about in the wild, usally at long distances even overnight].
This year its going to be a modified medium alice, i might do a write up with pictures somtime its more functional for me atlest.
a bivy hammock i got from cheaper than dirt weighs like half a lb and is pretty water proof
i pack my ghille incase of a groundhog or yote encounter
and some ultralight rain gear
for fire i carry 5-6 cheapo lighters and some tinder in ziploc bags just incase of rain.
a small fishing kit [ a dozen hooks and a good bit of strong braid line a lil over 100 yds maybe 150, and a few small split shots and floats]
floral wire [snares, it works ok]
a couple pocket knives, and a small knife sharpener
and a foil punch of tuna
of course a couple led flashlights, and extra batteries
misc stuff like duct tape and a small first aid kit and of cours 550 cord but dont ever forget your literature, ive always carried the army ranger handbook since i was a kid in the woods
depending on the situation a yote call and even a lil electic rabbit decoy that screams an wails
alot of it is for a JIC situation but ive been hurt bad and stuck in the woods before, after my tree stand slid down the tree and my 250lb ass hit the ground from 20 feet up 2 broken ribs a sprained wrist, a dislocated hip, and 8 hours on the ground yelling for help taught me to be ready and not to EVER EVER skimp on the saftey harness.
