Anybody wear a wrist worn GPS when hunting? I'm considering buying one, but I don't know anyone that owns one. I've looked at the Garmin Instinct, and Fenix 5x (really pricey though). I'm considering this for a hunt next year in the Colorado mountains. I like the thought of the convenience of having the gps on my wrist.

Give Lowlight a ping. He has a Garmin.

I use the Foretrex 601. Great little unit when you get it all setup and understand how to get thru the functions. In areas I've had very little scouting it's nice to drop a waypoint at the parking lot. Areas/spots that I want to save I power it back on, save the waypoint, turn it off. I generally don't leave it on the whole time I'm out. If you choose to leave it on I suggest bringing backup batteries. For other uses (bike riding) it tracks great, uses Basemap to pull in your data. It saves the tracks/trails on overlay so you can see on a "map" where you traveled. Another suggestion is to order the watch style straps. They are MUCH easier and more comfortable over the cloth velcro band in my use.

Another option if you just actually want a GPS readout and don't need a lot of other stuff is if you currently are of the Android religion, something like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 46mm That one has a GPS and you can get quite a few apps for it.
If you have no Data service however, you'll be limited to either GPS coordinates only on the watch, or if you have an offline maps app on your phone it can link up to that.
