My reloading equipment is pretty basic. I have 1000 pieces of 5.56 brass i need processed, and lack the equipment to do it efficiently. Needs sized, trimmed, and primer pocket crimp removed. Brass is nickel and very clean.

You need a 223/556 die set, trimmer, and swaging die ( or primer pocket reamer you can chuck in a drill). That's about $100-130. Id suggest just buying the tools to do it yourself since you'll spend close to that amount for someone else to do it with shipping and all..plus you'll be able to do it yourself next time since 223/556 doesn't get a lot of reloads if shooting from a gas gun if that's the case. All the "fully processed" brass you see for sale online usually requires work anyways since it's mass produced and usually undergoes very limited quality control checks

@glock63 , this ^^

plus shipping in general has been atrocious lately, especially the fucking post office. I have Five packages and counting that will be delivered late if they show up at all...Buy the tooling/equipment you need locally and carve out the time to learn and get it done.

I’d bet any number of fellow members would be willing to help you get started, share advice on tooling, tips, best practices etc.

You guys are right. I only have a hand operated trimmer, and have only loaded for my precision rifles. Looking to get into loading 5.56 now in higher volume. Can you all recommend a trimmer? My 4 main calibers are 5.56, 6.5 creed, .308, and 6.5 grendel

I use a Frankford Arsenal case prep center. It does trimming, chamfering, deburring, etc all in one unit. I’ve used it for a few years without issue. I also have a Forster Hand crank lathe-style trimmer for lower volume, more precision oriented trimming. I’d also buy a dial caliper set, Hornady case length gauge, headspace and comparator kit. This way you can measure shoulder bump and base-Ogive for purposes of setting up your sizing and seating dies, respectively. They aren’t too expensive and can be found at places like Midway or local gun stores.

A Giraud trimmer is going to be by far the fastest most convenient trimmer. My 223 brass gets processed by m&s then I run it through the Giraud to chamfer the neck.

i recently purchased a Henderson trimmer from a fellow member on here, Talked to Todd at Henderson and he set me up with the power unit and correct trim head for 223 since the one i purchased came with the 6mm head. Todd (owner of Henderson) went out of his way to help me get everything in order once it arrived, even texting and calling me back over the "weekend" as i had a few problems. Now that everything is running smoothly, i can't imagine a better trimmer. Trims and chamfers all in one. Great machine and great person to do business with. I'm probably running approx. 500 per hour thru this trimmer

M&s suspended processing in the short term to catch up. They will bring service back when they are caught up. I would not ship the brass until you can purchase it on the website.
