You pay regular shipping fees then usually $20 gets tacked on for hazmat because it’s more expensive for them to shop powder, you need special licenses, etc. so if you buy just one pound and have it shipped it’s crazy expensive. Shipping price is the same if you buy 1# or 48#. Might as well order all you can to get your monies worth out of the high cost of shipping. Or just buy local.

Add on $13.95 shipping + $19.95 hazmat. $261.10 for 8# (8 x 1lb) delivered = $32.6375 delivered per lb. Doesn't seem horrible

PV normally has some of the best prices on the net. Unless you get a free hazmat which dosent happen often.
Not sure if you know how hazmat works but it means they can only xfer your order on certain trucks. Those truck drivers have to have special certifications, the trucks cant go through certain places in town, can only be unloaded in certain places. I'm actually surprised it's dosent cost more.
Obviously to jump through all those hoops it's going to cost alot for shipping. Makes no difference to them if its 1 lb or 40 lbs. Thing is...even if you buy local powder, it's still worked into the price. The possible exception is big box stores.
Always buy atleast 16+ lbs at a time. Primers are also hazmat. Buy them at the same time. If you buying singles buy local. Very few people pay a hazmat for 1 lb.
When you see free hazmat jump on it. Most of the time they sell out of the good powders quickly when these sales go on.
