Night Vision WTB: Insight/L3 PAS-23B MTM-Pi Thermal Monocular (640px MTM)

I have an L3 PAS-23 MTM-Pi 640px thermal monocular. Basically looks and behaves just like a regular 320px MTM, just with higher resolution. It’s an oldie, but a goodie, so I’m looking for another one.

I loaned mine to a buddy and failed to tell him NOT to point it directly at the SUN(!!). So, now mine has permanent burn-in.

So, if you have a 640px MTM, drop me a line. I have cash or possible trade items.

Many thermals employ filters to prevent this. Some Flira can ve pointed directly at the sun with no ill effects. Unfortunately, L3 ain’t one of those manufacturers.

That's one of them yea but things.

In theory and actual use a "tender yes", but its just best to always just stay cautious and don't look at any of the bad stuff with thermal or NV.

How do you identify a 640 unit over a 320?

How long did your buddy point at the sun for it to get burn in?

1.3 seconds. Just brushed it across the sky, and it burned a trail that never went away. Ridonkulously sensitive.

Wow. I noticed this unit is super sensitive in picking up heat compared to the skeetx. Maby it’s because it doesn’t have a sun filter. I guess you should only use it at night to be safe.
