If anyone has an old 10/22 or an affordable bolt action that still shoots decent I would be interested. I would like to keep it around $200 and give them a budget for upgrades. New stock, scope, trigger etc.

    Kind Regards,

I git my kids vintage Winchester 67A - "Boys Rifles".

Cost me $200 at my local shop. They are single shot bolt actions with the requirement that the cocking knob be pulled back by hand to fire - as safe as it gets.

I stripped the stocks, coated with fresh linseed oil, added Winchester M70 1 inch slings swivels and Hunter 1" M1907 style slings......Mini M40 sniper rifles......

The old school single shots with the cocking knob are great.
And even a cheaper one still shoots pretty dang good.
My first rifle I bought myself was that style. Made by Savage for Coast to Coast.
    mine was $40.

I’ve got a Romanian trainer bolt action that I recrowned the barrel, did an effective trigger job and rubbed on the action to smooth it out a bit. I would sell it for the $150 I paid for it.
