A couple of years ago I built an AR15 carbine that could be used for precision shooting as well. I really love this rifle, but I rarely ever shoot it, and there are other things I would rather use the money for that I would get more enjoyment out of. I have a feeling this will be difficult to sell due to the high price of all the components, but I wouldn't be completely heartbroken if it didn't sell. I built this myself, and every part was what I considered ideal. The full parts list will be below.
It weighs a little under 9lb (8lb 14oz on a cheap 10lb scale) as pictured with the scope and 20rd magazine, so it's a little heavy for a normal carbine, but really light for a precision AR15. The balance is really good on it, even with an Ultra 9 screwed on the end, thanks to the Proof carbon barrel. It's also set up for Arca thanks to the HRD rail. The monolithic upper receiver makes it very easy to mount any type of scope in any kind of rings or mounts, since you don't have to worry about bridging the upper and the handguard. It has 1430 rounds through it, so it's still pretty fresh for a .223, and it has never seen any hard use since I basically exclusively shot it with an Ultra 9 screwed on, making me always conscious of heat build up. It also really likes the Black Hills Remanufactured 69 SMK ammo, which is a plus for cheap factory ammo. It tends to shoot around the .5 to .8 MOA range very consistently, with a few .2 and 1 MOA groups thrown in on occasion. I think the worst group I've ever seen it print was a 5 shot 1.6 MOA group, and other than that were a handful of 1.1 and 1.2 MOA groups. I'll include pictures of several groups to show a good representation of how it typically shoots.
It has a very clean 2 tone finish with black and OD green, and nothing on it is spray paint or any other cheap finish. Along with the rifle and scope, I'll also send 6 mags with it ranging from 10 to 30 rounders, most of which are PMags.
Parts List:
*San Tan Tactical STT-15 billet lower od green with logo (ambidextrous controls)
*Geissele SSA-E trigger with KNS antirotation pins
*BAD-ASS-ST safety with crank and short crank levers
*BAD-EPS takedown pins
*Ergo Tactical Deluxe grip (I cut the palm shelf off of it)
*Noveske receiver end plate with qd mount
*VLTOR milspec Carbine Receiver Extension
*JP Silent Capture Spring with PACK 15 spring kit
*Larue Tactical Magpul CTR/ RISR OD green combo with MDT Enhanced Recoil Pad
*VLTOR VIS Fusion 10" upper
*JP FMOS bolt carrier with Enhanced Bolt
*Armageddon Tactical GMS-15 charging handle
*Proof Research 16" 1-8" twist .223 Wylde carbon wrapped barrel
*SLR Sentry 7 set screw gas block with melonited gas tube
*Thunder Beast 223CB brake
*Nightforce NX8 1-8x24 F1 FC-MIL
*Aero Precision Ultralight 1.5" mount
*HRD AFAX-09 dovetail rail
*BCM keymod qd antirotation sling mount
I would really prefer to sell this as a package, but I would be willing to split it up (upper, lower, scope) for the right prices. The only trades I would have any interest in would be for a good condition non reproduction Luger P08 9mm pistol, or a really good condition Beretta 92FS. I'm looking for $3400 shipped insured for everything, but I'm open to offers. Just make sure your FFL will accept from individuals. If you have any questions about anything on this rifle, just send me a message and I'll try to answer as best I can. I'll get pictures up soon, including targets.
